How should we handle difficult things:

Shine a light on them?

Cover them in fog?

…or keep looking for beauty?

Some difficult things are also beautiful.
But there are others (to my way of thinking) that are not beautiful . E.g., child abuse, sex abuse –
However, I DO know of one woman who lived through an abusive childhood and now lives an amazing life; she has been very forgiving, and she finds beauty, not in the abuse, but in her life now. She keeps looking for beauty and love.
So shining a light on difficult things: Yes.
Finding beauty therein: Depends…

any way you slice it, love makes difficult things easier. Your photos are so powerful and elegant. Brooke is right, it is a poem. I really love this reflection.

Keep looking for the good in everything no matter where you are.
Open your eyes and your heart to see the beauty!

Thank you very much for this, Rick! Practicing ‘clearing the fog’, forgiving myself for the fog, and looking honestly at the beauty all around me.
